Kairo is built so your life stays yours. There is no account, and almost everything stays on your phone.
What stays on your phone
- Your profile, places, schedule, people, birthdays, moods, goals, plans and trips.
- Contacts you choose to add (name, number, birthday). Kairo never reads your whole address book in the background.
- Calendar events, read only, to show tomorrow’s first event and public holidays.
- Phone time (app usage), if you allow Usage access. It is never uploaded.
What is sent, and why
- Map coordinates of trips you check, to Kairo’s server, to get travel times and search places. The server uses TomTom or OpenStreetMap services and keeps short-lived caches, not your history.
- Weather: the rough location of your home is sent to Open-Meteo for the forecast.
- AI suggestions, if switched on: your first name, goals, today’s mood and the plan Kairo already worked out, and for goal check-ins your goal, your reason and what got in the way. These go to Kairo’s server and an AI model via OpenRouter to write the wording. For ideas about someone who matters: only their first name, who they are to you and what you wrote that they love. No contact lists, phone numbers, photos, locations or app usage are included.
- A random install ID, so the server can limit how often one phone calls it.
What Kairo never does
- No ads, no tracking, no selling or sharing of data.
- No continuous location tracking. Trip learning only notices when you leave or arrive at a saved place.
Your control
Turn off AI, trip learning, calendar, contacts or usage access at any time in Kairo or in Android settings. You → Export my data gives you everything Kairo stores. You → Delete everything removes it from your phone.
